Whenever I Hear the Song of a Bird

Tell me this isn't the cutest thing you've ever seen!
This was actually taken in October, so Hailee wasn't quite 3 yet. I haven't been able to figure out how to put on a video, until now, so here you go.

Are we crazy?!

I didn't know I had my camera on the wrong setting this day, so sorry about the wacky colored pictures. It is kind of a true indicator of the day though. I think we were crazy. Lagoon opened this past Saturday, so we just HAD to go. It was freezing cold and raining. You can see the wet ground in all the pictures. I was actually surprised by how many people were there and how they kept all the rides open even in the rain. It was hilarious. After a couple of hours of freezing, we decided to go home and thaw out. We had a good time though.

I'm 6-Month's Old!

I can't believe how much I've grown! Here's how big I am now (and how cute I am!):

Weight: 14.9 lbs. (10th %)
Height: 26 in. (40th %)
Jakey, we're so happy to have you in our lives. You are such a fun baby and you love to smile & laugh. You're rolling over and getting close to being able to sit up. You LOVE to eat and you cry if we don't pile the food in your mouth fast enough! Your sister loves you too and takes such good care of you. I'm so glad you came to our family! We Love You Jakey!

Slipping Through My Fingers

Ok, so maybe I'm PMS'ing, I really don't know, but when I was driving to work this morning, I was listening to the Mamma Mia soundtrack (per Hailee's request, she loves that album). "Slipping Through My Fingers" came on and I actually started crying. Hailee saw me wiping my eyes in my rear view mirror and said "It's ok mom". I said "Oh, I'm ok...this song is just kind of sad." She looked really confused and then said, "Mom, why don't we listen to a different song that doesn't make you cry?" A novel idea, huh? Who knows why we do that to ourselves, watch movies and listen to music that make us cry?!? It seems kind of crazy. She is only three, so it's not like I've lost my chance, but this song just makes me cry because I'm so afraid of how FAST she's growing! Anyway, I thought that was so cute. Here's the lyrics for those of you that don't know the song.

Schoolbag in hand, she leaves home in the early morning
Waving goodbye with an absent-minded smile
I watch her go with a surge of that well-known sadness
And I have to sit down for a while
The feeling that Im losing her forever
And without really entering her world
Im glad whenever I can share her laughter
That funny little girl

Slipping through my fingers all the time
I try to capture every minute
The feeling in it
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Do I really see whats in her mind
Each time I think Im close to knowing
She keeps on growing
Slipping through my fingers all the time

Sleep in our eyes, her and me at the breakfast table
Barely awake, I let precious time go by
Then when shes gone theres that odd melancholy feeling
And a sense of guilt I cant deny
What happened to the wonderful adventures
The places I had planned for us to go
(slipping through my fingers all the time)
Well, some of that we did but most we didnt
And why I just dont know

Slipping through my fingers all the time
I try to capture every minute
The feeling in it
Slipping through my fingers all the time
Do I really see whats in her mind
Each time I think Im close to knowing
She keeps on growing
Slipping through my fingers all the time

Sometimes I wish that I could freeze the picture
And save it from the funny tricks of time
Slipping through my fingers...

Slipping through my fingers all the time

Schoolbag in hand she leaves home in the early morning
Waving goodbye with an absent-minded smile...
