Onward & Upward

My sweet Hailee had her preschool graduation and it was a very bittersweet moment...a little emotional for mom, but fine for Hailee, of course, because she doesn't understand all the implications of what this means. She's been going to school with some of these kids since
she was a baby and they are best, best friends. They are all splitting off to go to different Kindergartens and she will likely never see many of them again. Oh, that is so hard to take in.

This is her sweet (boy)friend, Declan. They've already got their wedding planned. I have pictures of them holding hands when they were 3-months old! She will miss him.Image

This is her best friend, Kylee. This day of the graduation was Kylee's last day going to school there. Hailee will keep going there until Kindergarten starts, so I know she is going to miss having Kylee there. Luckily her mom and I are already planning future play-dates, although the pessimist in me knows that will only last so long...oh, the pain of growing older...or the pain of watching your kids grow older...Somehow, I didn't get pictures of her with the other girls in her "clique (I hate to say)", Bella & Aspen. Those kids have always stuck close together because they are the ones that have been together there since they were newborns.

They sang some cute songs. One of them was called "Zoophonics Kids", to which I already knew all the words because Hailee has sung it in the car many, many times. :)

Getting her diploma. Sniffle, sniffle.

They released balloons into the air to represent moving onward and upward to bigger and better things.

Sniffle, sniffle, sniffle...

They had to create an "all about me" poster to display at the graduation. Hailee was very excited about creating hers.

Hailee with her sweet teacher, Maria. This was Maria's last day, as well. Hailee is going to miss her too!

Every time I tell her to stop growing she just laughs and says "mom, that's the way it's supposed to be!" Love you my sweet girl!

Fishing with Dad

Today was the annual father's day fishing trip. Hailee had a great
time despite her apparent disgust toward dead fish. She's excited to
eat them though!
