St. George

I've been wanting to take Hailee down to the Tuachan Theatre in St. George and when I saw that Annie was playing, I decided to go. We had such a great time. Ty & Jake were there too, but for this event, Jake was in bed and Ty wasn't too disappointed in having to miss the play:)
She had fun playing around before the show. The grounds are so beautiful.
You can see how excited she was when the play began.
This is when they shot off a firework at the end of the show.
She stayed awake the whole time. She did really well although she got a little restless when there were no kids on the stage. She kept asking where they were.

I was in the other room when this incident occurred. I walked by and Hailee was trying to give Jake an oreo cookie. I told her not to give him one because it's too messy. When I walked back into the living room, this is what I saw! If you can't tell, she "unscrewed" the oreo cookie and stuck it to the top of Jake's head with the creme filling! Me and Ty thought we probably should be mad, but we couldn't help laughing our heads off! Besides, Jake doesn't seem to mind:)We all went shopping one morning when Ty and my dad were going mountain biking and they had this cute little sign up. I thought Jake was a perfect "Daddy Warbucks".We went for a little hike one morning. We had a great time, it was a nice little weekend getaway.

Happy Father's Day

For the past couple of years, we have had a little backyard BBQ and water party the day before father's day to celebrate with our own dads. It's June, so the weather's always nice and it's always really fun. So we decided to do it again this year. Well, the weather didn't cooperate so well for us. It was raining all morning, but we decided to fill up the pool just in case it would warm up later. So everyone came and no such luck. I checked the thermometer that we have outside and it read 52 degrees. The sporadic rain continued. Well, that wasn't stopping the kids. They were planning on a swimming party and they were going to have it. I'm not kidding you, I put my jacket and shoes on to go outside because it was so cold. These pictures are deceiving because you can tell the sun is out, but it was literally shining for the 2 minutes I was out there getting these pictures before it went back behind the dark rain clouds. Crazy kids!
On father's day, of course we had to start the day out with breakfast in bed for dad. Apparently this is the first "breakfast in bed" he's ever had. Wow, what kind of a wife am I? He loved it, even though Hailee kept begging him to give her bites. We did go eat our own breakfast in the kitchen after he was done.
All he got from us was some zebracakes (nasty things, he only gets them on special occasions) and a subscription to Entertainment Weekly. But that's because he got his real present at the end of June, a mountain bike. He just HAD to have it before we went on our trip to St. George.
Happy Father's Day! You are the best dad and husband in the whole world. We love you!

Princess Party Part II

Here is the second part of the princess party I posted about here. My mom put on this awesome party for Hailee and Addy. Here they are playing "pin the crown on the princess".
This was a funny game. We wrapped up their legs with green crepe paper like they were mermaids and they did hopping races.
My mom always makes the coolest cakes. Here is a picture I took after the kids got to it, hence the leaning tower!
This lunch was awesome. The sandwiches were cut out in shapes like crowns, glass slippers, princesses, etc. It even got some of the more apprehensive eaters to dig right in. We also had yummy little fruit kabobs.
Here's my mom explaining about magic pixie dust.
All the girls.
Thanks to my mom for putting so much time and effort into the party, it turned out so well and everyone had a great time!

Father's Day Fishing Trip

Every year Hailee's preschool goes on a Father's Day Fishing trip to the trout farm. Since this is her first year of preschool, this is the first year they got to go. They had such a great time. Unfortunately Ty was behind the camera the whole time, so he isn't in any of these pictures.
Hailee was apparently extremely afraid of the fish and it was all Ty could do to even get her to hold this pole for a picture! She got a little more brave throughout the day.
So the first time a fish bit Hailee's hook, she didn't know what to do. Ty was video taping her when it happened so he was trying to turn it off and slip it into his pocket so he could help her (I only wish he had just kept videotaping!). Before he could make it over to her, she just let go of the pole, and down in went. In this picture, you can see the pole "swimming around", still attached to the poor fish. It's in the middle of the picture almost halfway down.
Of course the bus ride is always a favorite!
They ended up catching two fish to bring home. Such a fun little activity.
