Hailee's personality has really come out lately and I can't believe how much of a little girl she is, instead of a baby. She has her own agenda and always knows what she wants to do. The other day as I was putting away laundry, I went to check on her and this is what I found her doing...
These are a couple of her other favorite things to do...
It's been a loooong winter for our family. I don't know if it's just been bad for everyone, or if it's because we are now parents with a child that passes germs around like candy, but we have been sick with everything under the sun this season. We keep passing things around between me, Ty and Hailee that it seems the three of us haven't all been well all at the same time. Right now, we are...we're keeping our fingers crossed.
This picture below is the very first time Hailee has ever been sick and it was so sad. Anyone who knows Hailee knows that she doesn't sit still for a split second and on this particular day, I picked her up early from school because they said she wasn't feeling well. When I got there, they were holding her all wrapped up in a blanket and she was as white as a ghost. This is her at home. We laid her in the love sac and she just played with her toys while she was laying down. Truly, this is something she would never do.
As sad as it was, I have to admit, as a mom I enjoyed when Hailee was sick. It was the first time since she was born that she allowed me to just hold her in my arms and rock her. I have always wanted to do that and she has never let me. When I try to rock her before bed she just points to her crib and grunts until I lay her in it.
One of my most recent favorite things to do is try new things with her hair. She has so much of it and it is getting so long. This is Hailee sporting one of her new hairstyles.

Steve Jobs on Music
Here is a really interesting article written by Steve Jobs (Apple CEO) about DRM in digital music, specifically from the iTunes store. DRM is Digital Rights Management, it's basically a code put into your MP3's to prevent you from sharing them, even within your own home or on devices you already own. If you purchase music from iTunes I am sure you will find this article interesting, and you should probably read it just to educate yourself. It's also a great example of the ridiculous state that the music industry is in right now. They are clinging to distribution by CD's, when the business model of distribution online, at lower costs, is really what consumers want. Is it any wonder that CD sales consistently drop every year? Hopefully the recording industry will listen to Steve, but I doubt it. They seem very stubborn right now and of course the bottom line ($) is always what's most important, not the music and not customer service.
Let me know what you think. I know most of the people who read this blog are really into music, as am I. Considering how crazy the industry and this whole DRM thing is right now, I am sure you will hear more about it from me later.

July 21st
OK Harry Potter geeks, get ready and start the countdown. We now know the date when we we all learn what happens in the Harry Potter world, July 21st. If you want a deal right now pre-order your book at amazon.com and save about $15.00. Last time mine was delivered on release day, so don't worry about that.
Here is a picture of a "supposed" note J.K. Rowling left on a statue at the hotel where she finished the book. It reads "JK Rowling finished writing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in this room (652) on 11th Jan 2007." So the book itself is done and the rumor is that is has been delivered to the publisher for editing. I know most people weren't expecting the book so soon, especially to have it released 8 days after the next movie comes out (July 13th), but good news for us fans.
In non Harry Potter related news, I stumbled upon this great photo from last years Tour De France, which is also in July (That's going to be a busy month). Check it out.
I apologize for the lack up updates lately. As I told Jeff in the comments of my last post, it seems that I have a lack of open opinion lately, I know most of you don't believe that but maybe I have just been lazy. Brooke is working on posting some new Hailee pictures and I am sure I will spout off about something soon.
